Financial Analysis Fundamentals
Most people who want to understand business finances get stuck on spreadsheets and technical jargon. We built this program differently—you'll work with real company data, make actual decisions, and see how numbers tell stories about business health.
Reading Financial Statements
Weeks 1-3Most beginners think balance sheets are confusing on purpose. They're not—once you know what you're looking for. We break down real statements from Australian companies and show you exactly where the important information hides.
Ratio Analysis & Benchmarking
Weeks 4-6You'll calculate about forty different ratios in this module. Not because we enjoy maths, but because you need to know which ratios matter for different situations and which ones people misuse constantly.
Forecasting & Projections
Weeks 7-9Building financial models sounds intimidating. But once you understand the logic behind projections—how revenue assumptions flow through to cash needs—it becomes more like solving puzzles than doing advanced maths.
Presenting Financial Insights
Weeks 10-12Numbers don't speak for themselves. The final weeks focus on turning your analysis into recommendations that decision-makers can act on. We practice presenting findings to groups who don't care about your formulas.
Learn From People Who've Done This Work
Our instructors aren't academics reading from outdated textbooks. They spend their days analyzing financials, making recommendations, and dealing with the messy reality of business decisions.
Henrik Lundberg
Senior Financial Analyst
Henrik spent eight years with a Perth-based mining finance group before switching to education. He's brilliant at explaining why certain accounting choices matter and which red flags actually predict problems versus which ones just look scary.
Siobhan MacLeod
Corporate Finance Consultant
After twelve years advising SMEs on financial planning and analysis, Siobhan knows every question beginners ask and every mistake people make when learning this stuff. She teaches the forecasting and presentation modules with real examples from her consulting work.
Dimitri Vukovic
Investment Analyst
Dimitri analyzes companies for investment decisions daily. He brings current case studies—sometimes businesses in the news that week—and walks through exactly how he'd approach their financials. His ratio analysis sessions are incredibly practical.
Aoife Brennan
Financial Controller
Aoife manages financial reporting for a mid-sized logistics company. She teaches the statement reading module and shares insider perspectives on how companies actually prepare these documents and where the interesting details get buried.
Upcoming Program Dates
Sessions run Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 PM Perth time. We keep cohorts small so everyone gets individual feedback on their analysis work. Most participants find the workload manageable alongside full-time jobs—expect about five hours per week outside class.
